The 1950s suburb of Maple Grove thrives on order

and propriety. Every Saturday, Mrs. Evelyn

Hartman bakes pies for the neighborhood potluck,

her hands steady despite the tremor she feels at

dusk. She’s never questioned the way her husband,

Henry, disappears for hours on end, nor the

strange silver ring he wears.

A rusted robot arrives at her doorstep, its

voice a crackling static. It calls her by name

and says it has been waiting. Evelyn’s pulse

quickens. The robot claims to be from a future

where werewolves rule, but she dismisses it as a

prank—until the moon turns bloodred and the

neighbor’s dog howls like a banshee.

That night, Evelyn finds Henry in the garage,

his eyes glowing gold. He doesn’t recognize her.

The robot warns her: the pack is hunting. She

must choose—stay with the man she loves or flee

with the machine before the full moon binds them

forever.

The next morning, the town is silent. No one

remembers the wolf that prowled the streets,

only that Evelyn’s house is empty and the robot

is gone. A new family moves in, but the ring on

the front porch remains, gleaming in the sun.
